Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) employment categories
The Regular employment category is further defined as Regular Full Time (RFT) or Regular Part Time (RPT) depending upon the hours worked during an administrative work week. If you are hired as a RFT employee you will be regularly scheduled to work 35-40 hours per week. RFT employees earn annual and sick leave and are eligible to enroll in all benefit programs. If you are hired as a RPT employee you will be regularly scheduled to work 20-34 hours per week. RPT employees earn annual and sick leave and are only eligible to enroll in Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Retirement and 401K Savings and Investment Plans.
Regular Employment Benefit Enrollment Options:
- Enroll within the first 31 days of hire for Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability where deductions start the next full pay period after enrollment. After first 31 days of hire these benefit options are only available during open enrollment . Open enrollment is available each year during the month of November where benefits are effective January of the following year.
- Enroll in retirement and 401K savings and investment plans anytime where deductions start the next full pay period after enrollment.
As a Flexible employee you may work from 0-40 hours per week as needed. Flexible employees do not earn annual or sick leave and are eligible for Health Insurance only after working 1 year and averaging 30 hours in that
