Swim Lessons: May Sessions

Make a splash with NSA HR – Portsmouth MWR Aquatics’ summer swim lessons at Riverview Aquatics Center. All classes are Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday, or Saturday. There are four or six classes per session. Swim classes begin the first week of May and end the last week of the month.  

The classes that are offered are: parent/child (ages 6 months to three), preschool beginner (ages three to five), school age beginner (ages six to 12), school age advanced (ages six to 12) and adult/teen (ages 13 and older).    

Beginner swimmers are just starting out or have not passed the MWR swim test. Advanced swimmers have passed the MWR swim test and are improving their skills and techniques. If you are unsure of the level for your child, then one of our MWR Aquatics Staff at Riverview Aquatics Center would be happy to give a swim test during business hours.   

The cost to participate is $40 per person for military families, retirees, and eligible DoW civilians. Swim lessons are free for active duty.   

Parent & Child Swim Lessons 

• Fridays from 11 to 11:30 AM  
• Saturdays from 11:15 to 11:45 AM  
• Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 to 12 PM  
• Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 to 12 PM  

Preschool Beginner Lessons  

• Fridays from 10 to 10:45 AM,  
• Saturdays from 8:15 to 9 AM,  
• Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:45 to 11:15 AM or 4 to 4:30 PM  
• Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:45 to 11:15 AM or 4 to 4:30 PM 

School Age Beginner Lessons 

• Saturdays from 9:15 to 10 AM  
• Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:40 to 5:10 PM or 5:20 to 5:50 PM  
• Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:40 to 5:10 PM  

School Age Advanced Lessons 

• Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:15 to 6 PM  

Adult/Teen Lessons  

• Fridays from 9 to 9:45 AM  
• Saturdays from 10:15 to 11 AM
